3 June 2014 – Samson swore he would never lose it. But he did.
And now, 46 of ComfortDelGro’s cabbies will also lose their shiny locks – this time, in the name of Charity.
In Cabby Henry Tay’s case, it would be the third time he’s going under the shaving kit.
Together with 45 other ComfortDelGro cabbies, the 44-year-old will have his hair completely shaved off, at a satellite event today organised for the first time by CabbyCare Charity Group (“CabbyCare”) in support of Hair for Hope 2014, which is an annual fundraising event of the Children’s Cancer Foundation (CCF).
Said Cabby Tay: “I felt that it was the least I could do to support the children with cancer. It is a morale booster for me today to see many other CabbyCare members coming forward for this meaningful cause.”
Made up of 150 Comfort and CityCab cabbies, CabbyCare is a voluntary organisation formed to help the less fortunate in society. Assisted by ComfortDelGro Taxis, it lends a helping hand to those in need through various ways. This year, besides coming onboard as a new Hair for Hope satellite partner, CabbyCare is also making a $10,000 donation towards CCF solely out of cabbies’ own pockets.
