What is changing from 4 May 2026?
With effect from 4 May 2026, cross-border taxi services between Singapore and Malaysia will offer expanded drop-off coverage and revised fares. These changes provide passengers with greater flexibility and clearer pricing before booking.
What vehicle types are available and how many passengers can the taxi take?
Passengers may choose from the following vehicle types from 4 May 2026, subject to availability:
- Standard 4 (Pruis/Ioniq/Kona/BYD e6/Lexus) – up to 4 Passengers
- Standard 6 (Sienta/Noah) – up to 6 Passengers
- Premium 6 (Alphard/MaxiCab/Vellfire) – up to 6 Passengers
How much luggage can I bring?
Both 4-seater and 6-seater taxis can accommodate up to 2 large suitcases (approximately 27–29 inches each). A 4-seater taxi can carry up to 4 passengers, while a 6-seater can carry up to 6 passengers. Actual luggage space may vary depending on the number of passengers and how the space is shared.
Do I need to alight at customs clearance?
No. You can enjoy seamless clearance at checkpoints without leaving the taxi.
How do I make a Cross-Border Taxi booking?
You may book a Singapore‑origin trip by calling the 24‑hour hotline: 6552 1111.
From 4 May 2026 onwards:
Return‑trip bookings from Malaysia to Singapore via hotline will be discontinued.
Passengers must take a licensed cross‑border taxi by street‑hail at Larkin Terminal, as required by Malaysian authorities.
Is advance booking available?
Yes. You may request an immediate trip or book up to 7 days in advance, subject to the availability of cross-border taxis.

Where can Singapore-registered taxis drop passengers off in Malaysia?
Singapore-registered taxis may drop passengers off at approved locations in Johor Bahru, Iskandar Puteri, Forest City, Kulai, and Senai, in accordance with the operating boundaries set by the Malaysian authorities.
Can multiple stops be made in Malaysia?
No. Multiple stops not are allowed.
Which checkpoint is used to enter Malaysia?
Cross-border taxis are permitted to enter Malaysia via both Tuas Checkpoint and Woodlands Checkpoint. The checkpoint used will depend on the passenger’s preferred route, and the fare will be quoted accordingly based on the distance travelled.
How are fares calculated for trips to Malaysia?
Fares depend on the vehicle type and total trip distance. The estimated fare and distance will be advised by our call operators before booking confirmation.

Where can Malaysia-registered taxis drop passengers off in Singapore?
Malaysia-registered taxis are permitted to drop passengers off at any location in Singapore.
Will return-trip bookings from Malaysia to Singapore still be available?
No. From 4 May 2026, return-trip bookings from Malaysia to Singapore via hotline will be discontinued. Passengers may take any licensed cross-border taxi at Larkin Terminal in accordance set by the Malaysian authorities.
Payment & Currency
What payment methods are accepted for Singapore-origin trips?
Payment can be made by cash or cashless methods via the in-vehicle terminal for Singapore-origin trips, administrative fee applies for cashless transactions.
What payment methods are accepted for Malaysia-origin trips?
Cash payment in Malaysian Ringgit (RM) is accepted for Malaysia-origin trips. Cashless payments are accepted in Singapore Dollars (SGD) only , and are subject to an administrative fee depending on the selected payment method.
Can I make cashless payment upon arrival in Malaysia?
For smooth processing, please complete cashless payment before crossing the border. There might be network connectivity issues which may affect payment processing successfully.
What exchange rate is used?
The exchange rate is fixed at SGD1 = RM 3, as determined by the relevant authorities.
Are there any additional charges? (e.g., ERP, car park, midnight surcharge, or extra stops)?
From 24 March 2026 to 31 May 2026, an additional $0.80 Driver Fee will be applied to all cross‑border trips. No other extra charges apply.
Will fares change if there’s a traffic jam?
No. The flat fare applies regardless of traffic conditions.
Can I book a ride from Ban San Street terminal and still enjoy the S$80 fare?
No. The S$80 fare is only applicable for walk-in passengers who queue at the taxi stand at Ban San Street Terminal. Call bookings are not allowed from this location.

Are passengers insured?
Yes. Passengers are covered for accidental injuries sustained during the taxi journey.
What if the taxi breaks down in Malaysia?
Replacement taxis cannot be dispatched in Malaysia. Passengers will need to arrange alternative transport.
How can I provide feedback or report issues?

Are the drivers familiar with Malaysia routes?
Yes. All cross-border taxi drivers are licensed and trained to navigate routes Malaysia approved locations in Johor Bahru, Iskandar Puteri, Forest City, Kulai, and Senai, in accordance with the operating boundaries set by the Malaysian authorities.
Will these taxis have a special sticker or colour as indication?
Yes. Licensed taxis will display a “Cross Border Taxi” sticker on the vehicle.
