Frequently Asked Questions About Platform Fee
Platform Fee Frequently Asked Questions
What is a platform fee?
This is a fee charged to customers for the usage of the CDG Zig platform.
Why is CDG Zig App charging a platform fee now?
This fee will help defray the development cost of the CDG Zig platform as we continue to improve the user experience and make it a convenient one-stop App for all your mobility and lifestyle needs. Besides point-to-point taxi, private hire car bookings, EV charging and private bus charters, we’ve also introduced restaurant reservations, food orders and merchant deals. We will continue to develop new features and roll out more services that will benefit our users.
Which services will incur the platform fee?
From 1 July 2023, all taxi and private-hire car bookings made via the CDG Zig App will be charged a platform fee of 70 cents. On the CDG Zig App, both the ComfortRIDE and Meter Fare options as well as Limo Transfers will include the platform fee. The receipt will itemise each fare, including the platform fee. Bookings made via Dial-A-Cab (6552 1111) and SMS-A-Cab (71222) and street hail trips will not incur the platform fee.
Which services will not incur the platform fee?
Our Bus Rides, Deals and Food services on the CDG Zig App will not incur the platform fee.
Where can I view the platform fee for my booking trip?
The receipt with trip details, including the platform fee can be viewed in the CDG Zig App. It will also be sent to you via your registered email. You may also ask the cabby to give you a printed receipt at the end of the trip.
For the best user experience, we recommend updating to the latest version of the CDG Zig App.
CDG Zig App versions from 6.13.0 and above will show the platform fee component on the in-App receipt, email e-receipt and paper receipt.
Customers with the App version below 6.13.0 will still be charged a platform fee for all taxi and private-hire car bookings via the CDG Zig App, but will only be able to see the platform fee component on their email e-receipt and paper receipt, and not in their in-App receipt. The total fare displayed on the in-App receipt, will however, still include the platform fee.
