Frequently Asked Questions About Platform Fee

Platform Fee Frequently Asked Questions

What is the platform fee?

This is a fee charged to customers for the usage of the CDG Zig platform.

Why does the CDG Zig App charge a platform fee?

The platform fee supports ongoing enhancements to the CDG Zig app, enabling us to deliver a seamless, all-in-one platform for your mobility needs, including taxi and private hire car bookings. We are committed to continuously improving features and expanding services to enhance your experience.

Starting 1 January 2025, the platform fee will also include adjustments to help cover operating costs in line with the Ministry of Manpower’s (MOM) new initiatives for CPF contributions and Work Injury Compensation (WIC) insurance for Platform Workers. These efforts aim to provide our drivers with CPF contributions, improved insurance protection, and greater financial stability, enabling better earnings and livelihoods.

Which services will incur a platform fee?

From 1 January 2025, all taxi, and private-hire car bookings made via the CDG Zig App will incur a platform fee ranging from $1.00 to $1.20 (inclusive of GST), depending on the distance travelled and travel time. On the CDG Zig App, the platform fee will apply to bookings made under both the ComfortRIDE and Meter Fare options, and Limo Transfers. The receipt will itemise each fare component, including the platform fee.

Which services will not incur the platform fee?

The platform fee does not apply to the Pay for Street Hail feature, Bus Ride Chartering services, On-Demand Bus services, Public Shuttle Bus services, Travel Insurance, or Deals on the CDG Zig App. It is not applicable to bookings made through Dial-A-Cab (6552 1111), SMS-A-Cab (71222), or street-hail trips.

Why is the platform fee adjusted from $0.70 to $1.00 - $1.20 from 1 January 2025?

This platform fee adjustment helps defray to the operating expenses to support the Ministry of Manpower’s (MOM) new initiatives for CPF contributions and Work Injury Compensation (WIC) insurance for Platform Workers, effective 1 January 2025. This ensures our drivers benefit from CPF contributions and enhanced insurance coverage, and elevates our drivers’ livelihood, allowing them to have better earnings.

How much will I need to pay for the new platform fee?

You will pay between $1.00 and $1.20, depending on the distance travelled, travel time and other factors.

Where can I view the platform fee for my booking trip?

You can view the platform fee for different ride types on the “booking information” screen by pressing the “i” icon next to the ride selection.

Additionally, the platform fee component can be found under “Trip Details” in your CDG Zig App, and an e-receipt with a detailed fare breakdown will be sent to your registered email. You may also request a printed receipt from the cabby at the end of your trip.

For the best user experience, we recommend updating to the latest version of the CDG Zig App.

CDG Zig App versions from 7.0.9 and above will show the new platform fee component and amount on the in-App receipt, email e-receipt and paper receipt.
