Frequently Asked Questions About Driver Fee/Distance Time Rate

Driver Fee/Distance Time Rate

Why are fares being adjusted?

Fuel prices have risen due to the ongoing international situation. To help drivers manage higher operating costs and maintain stable earnings, Zig by ComfortDelGro is introducing a temporary Driver Fee for fixed-fare bookings and a temporary $0.01 increase in Distance-Time Rate for metered trips. All collected fees go directly to drivers.

What is the Driver Fee?

The Driver Fee is a temporary charge added to eligible trips to support drivers with higher operating costs. The full amount collected goes directly to the driver.
It is separate from the metered fare, distance‑time fare, platform fees, and surcharges, and applies only during the stated period. The Driver Fee applies to fixed-fare trips: $0.50 for fares below $15, and $0.80 for fares of $15 and above.

Which jobs are applicable for the Driver Fee?

  • Bookings via Zig by ComfortDelGro/PayLah/Kris+
  • All Cross Border Jobs
  • Limousine Car Services (excluding Guarantee Arrival/Guarantee Departure/One Way Transfer via Call Centre)
  • Hourly disposal services (charged per chargeable hour)

What jobs Are NOT applicable for Driver Fee?

  1. Bookings via HeyCars
  2. Limousine Car Services (Guarantee Arrival/Guarantee Departure/One Way Transfer) booked through the Call Centre
  3. Metered-fare trips booked via Zig by ComfortDelGro, as well as street hails and bookings through Call Centre

What is Distance-Time Rate for Metered Fare?

The distance‑time fare is the main part of a metered taxi fare. It is calculated based on:

  • The distance travelled
  • The time spent waiting or moving slowly, such as in traffic

This fare starts after the flag‑down fare and continues to increase until the trip ends.

What is the $0.01 distance-time Rate increase?

For metered trips, the distance-time fare will increase by $0.01 for

  • Every 400m thereafter or less up to 10km
  • Every 350m thereafter or less after 10km
  • Every 45 seconds of waiting or less

This applies to metered trips booked through Zig by ComfortDelGro App, Call Centre and street hail trips.

When will Driver Fee and increase in Distance-Time Rate take effect?

The changes take effect from 24 March 2026, 12:00am.

Are the Driver Fee and increase in Distance-Time Rate permanent?

No. These are temporary measures from 24 March 2026 to 31 May 2026. The situation will be reviewed before the end of this period.

How will the Driver Fee appear on my receipt?
